55 Days in Tokyo
About

Who?
My name is Andre. I recently got my B.S. in Computer Science. Here's my wonderful picture:

What?
This is a site to keep my travel journal online with all of my photos while I am staying in Tokyo.

When?
January 12th, 2007 through March 8th, 2007. 55 days. Hence the site name.

Where?
Tokyo, Japan. I don't care to be any more specific than that right now.

Why?
For the last several years, whenever I have travelled I have kept a journal of my activites, both as a writing exercise and to help me remember specifics. Since I got my digital camera for The SkittleBrau Project I have also kept track of the photos from each day as yet another reminder of what I have done and to make certain people happy by having photos to show them.
As for why I am staying in Tokyo for just under two months, there are two primary reasons. One, I love to travel and this is my graduation present to myself for several years of hard work. I also happen to love Tokyo. I do not enjoy most large cities, but for some reason Tokyo just feels nice and warm to me. Not that I intend to live there or anything. Two, I think that everyone should live overseas for at least a month or two, if not longer. It helps you give you another perspective on things.

How?
I have been planning this trip for about one and a half years. I have been saving up for it the last twelve months or so. I have also recieved some support from various family members, primarily in the form of airline miles so I didn't have to pay full price for a ticket. Housing is through a gaijin house (again, I don't want to say where at this point in time) to keep things affordable. I may not have an entire apartment to myself, but I've got my own room with heating, electricity and internet. I ask for little more.
